The circuits used in these path lights were based on a schematic designed by Mike Tarrant: they are modeled on a common circuit available elsewhere on the net.

The top schematic is for a 4.5 volt solar panel that produces about 55 - 80 mA. It uses one LED and two 1.2 volt AA batteries (550mAh or better).

The bottom schematic is for a 4.4 volt solar panel that produces about 250 mA: the Solar CDs! It uses two LEDs and four 1.2 volt AA batteries.
